If you often find yourself waiting long hours at airports wishing you could get into an airport lounge then Priority Pass could be your ticket to a relaxing stay
Priority Pass is the biggest contender in independent airport lounge programs. The pass allows you access to airport lounges from many different airlines.
The V.I.P. Airport Lounge Pass
Not every airport is covered by the Priority Pass and the standards of the lounges fir those that do offer them does vary a lot so you should check out what’s available to you first before you take a membership. The Priority Pass website has a list of over 700 airport lounges worldwide that it can give you access to.
How to Locate Priority Pass Lounges
The easiest way to locate one of the lounges is by using the free Priority Pass smartphone app.
Membership Levels
There are three different membership levels depending on how often you expect to use the services and your budget.
- Standard
- Standard Plus
- Prestige
Standard: A yearly membership fee of $99 plus an access fee of $27 per visit.
Standard Plus: A yearly membership fee of $249 which includes 10 free visits and then $27 for each visit following that.
Prestige: A yearly membership fee of $399 which includes unlimited visits.
If you wish to take in a guest with you then that incurs and extra cost of $27 per visit.
It should be remembered the Priority Pass do not run their own lounges they have simply partnered with various airlines to gain access.

The services provided do vary greatly between lounges and it is worth checking out their credentials while you are planning your journey. You may find that you are stuck at an airport somewhere and that there is a better lounge in the next terminal.
You should also check out whether there is a time limit on how long you can stay in the lounge and how that coincides with your travel as some have limitations of only a few hours.
Who’s it For?
If you travel frequently and alone then the Priority Pass may make your stay in the airports a more pleasurable experience.
Some credit card companies offer Priority Pass access as part of their agreement, American Express Platinum for example, so it’s worth checking beforehand.
Is it Worth It?
Priority Pass is not for everyone and you should thoroughly research what lounges and services will be available to you should you take out membership.
If you plan on taking a guest with you to the lounge then this will cost you another $27 each time. Money that may be better spent in one of the terminal restaurants instead.
